Summary


The Manager in Training (MIT) role is a training program that builds on your supervisory experience, coaching skills, and business acumen all in preparation for fully managing your own Blended Berry store.

You will learn how to run the business, lead a team, and help to create/maintain a positive environment and staple in your local community.

In this position you will be working side by side with the current store manager to learn what it takes to run the day to day operations.

The end goal with the Manager in Training position is to develop future Blended Berry store managers.


Once acclimated, the Manager in Training provides all blendistas and shift leaders with the guidance and information to perform their jobs to the highest standard.

They are responsible for maintaining store operations; and communicating issues and needs to Store Manager/owners when needed. Manager in Training works with the Management team to accomplish goals and plans. They manage, coach and develop the Blendistas and Shift Leaders daily.

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise Employees
  • Learn and perform all Open / Close Duties
  • Training / Retraining / Retaining Shift Leaders and Blendistas
  • Learn how to perform Write ups, Verbal Warnings, Incident Reports, Termination Reports
  • Learn how to maintain inventory logs, documents, worksheets and spreadsheets
  • Learn how to create and maintain a weekly/monthly work schedule
  • Food & labor cost control
  • Purchasing & inventory control, maintaining positive vendor relations
  • Placing orders and accepting deliveries, handling discrepancies
  • Maintain equipment: prep coolers, kegerator, freezers, fridge, blenders, etc.
  • Work closely with Shift Leaders, members of Management and Owner
  • Learn how to make operational decisions in the absence of the Manager
  • Cash Management
  • Work with Manager to approve time off requests
  • Plan and execute monthly Deep Clean
  • Manager ServSafe certification
  • Responsible for ensuring manager shifts are filled, covering whenever necessary
  • Inspire others: become a dynamic brand ambassador dedicated to driving and achieving results through your team

Supervisory responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include training and retraining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Communication Skills
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
