Description

About MAB Community Services

MAB Community Services (MAB) is long established social service agency for blind and visually impaired people in the United States.

Throughout our 120-year history, we have been dedicated to the inclusion of people with disabilities in our communities, supporting them to live full, independent, and self-directed lives, espousing the belief that disability rights are civil rights.

Since its first decades, MAB has been on the cutting edge of "the blindness-rights movement." As broad changes evolved in social and political attitudes towards disabilities in general, and blindness, we have expanded our scope to include individuals with a broad range of disabilities including visual impairment, intellectual disability, brain injury, autism spectrum disorders, and behavioral health challenges to support greater agency over their lives.

We are proud to be a leading advocate for disability rights and disability justice.

MAB Community Services' three divisions are the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI), MAB Adult Disability Services, and Ivy Street School.

Each division includes multiple innovative programs and services offered throughout Massachusetts with some across the United States, Canada, and beyond.
