Summary


Under the direction of the Automation Engineer, the Industrial Controls Technician develops, commissions and programs automated control systems and is able to troubleshoot these systems both at Faith's facility as well as our customers'.


Essential Duties

  • The listed duties are not all inclusive and may be expanded upon, as management deems necessary.
Design and implement new control systems and instrumentation equipment.

Maintains control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.

Review and update/redline system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
Ensure all projects are documented and information is available for use by all Maintenance and Operations personnel.

Assist with site evaluation and pre-installation efforts to ensure success during product deployment, provide field installation duties as well as operator training and post-training follow-up.

Act as a technical resource in problem solving and troubleshooting operational activities to reduce downtime related to control problems. Communicates technical issues to Facilities and Operations management.
Support and execute equipment calibration, programming installation and updates, and machine setup.
Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering personnel to resolve problems.

Troubleshoot programming and system faults for equipment and modify existing programs to improve sequencing, add/modify/remove alarms, and aide in improved troubleshooting and error response within PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems.

Perform telephone and remote diagnostic support; providing services which include (but are not limited to) troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, production, and/or software related problems.

Education / Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.

Ability to effectively communicate with groups of managers, customers, and employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills
Ability to use and understand measurement devices: such as tape measures, scales, calipers.


Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Valid state-provided drivers license
