ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Receives orders for products. Determines customer of product specification, required shipping date, unique delivery needs and any additional information needed by the dispatcher.
  • Writes or types order form, and/or enters data into computer, for assignment by dispatcher
  • Records and files copy of orders received
  • Routes orders to dispatchers for assignment and follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
  • Receives and checks customer complaints
  • Confers with sales and dispatch to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:


  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:


  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:


  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job is a typical office setting.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
