    Position Description:

    The Eating Anxiety Treatment (EAT) Laboratory at the University of Louisville has an opening for a full-time Financial Specialist. This specialist's primary job will be to maintain financial records and management of budgets for the EAT lab's externally funded grant portfolio. The specialist will also be responsible for programmatic and fiscal oversite, planning, development, implementation and assessment of finances and grant programs in the EAT lab which is focused on risk factors for and treatment of eating disorders. The Finance Management Specialist will work closely with Dr. Levinson to serve as a manager for pre-award and post-award tasks for NIH, NSF, DOD, and other internal and external funded submissions.

    The Eating Anxiety Treatment (EAT) Laboratory has a six-pronged mission, all of which center on improving the lives of those with eating disorders. Our mission is to (a) conduct cutting-edge research to develop novel treatments for eating disorders, (b) provide high-quality, evidence-based treatment for eating disorders (c) train the next generation of eating disorder researchers and clinicians, (d) distribute scientifically-based prevention programs across the community, (e) advocate for more awareness, better treatment, and services for eating disorders, and (f) work toward a more equitable and inclusive future that alleviates barriers to accessing high-quality treatment, prevention, and research for underserved populations. In pursuit of this mission, the EAT Lab has initiated numerous NIH-funded and privately-funded studies that include complex data collection methods, such as ecological momentary assessment (EMA), clinical assessment, questionnaires, and psychophysiological data.

    This will be a hybrid position to start with and will ideally transition to fully on-site in Louisville, KY, though this requirement is flexible. Remote work is possible, given fit of applicant. Minimum salary: $23.54/hour; compensation will be based on experience and qualifications; Insurance and benefits are available.

    Responsibilities

    Assist Dr. Levinson and other EAT Lab personnel with post-award initiatives including:
    • Manage ongoing financial tracking and reporting.
    • Collaborate with sponsored programs to ensure timely set up of award.
    • Monitor compliance and submit review reports to funding agencies.
    • Identify and resolve management, financial, and administrative issues.
    • Complete budget projections
    • Assist with yearly project reports
    • Maintain financial reports on the grant portfolio of the EAT lab
    Assist Dr. Levinson and other EAT Lab personnel with grant proposal submissions including:
    • Draft grant submission documents including, but not limited to budget, budget justifications, letters of support and biosketches.
    • Review and evaluate grant applications in response to program and Request for Application requirements.
    • Conduct financial reviews of proposed budget costs and budget justifications to ensure accuracy.
    • Develop timelines and tracking systems.
    • Collaborate with sponsored programs to ensure timely submission.
    • Uploading documents into federal grant systems (e.g., , ERA Commons, ASSIST).
    • Maintain current knowledge of grant regulations and current funding opportunities.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Demonstrated ability to work to a deadline.
    • Ability to manage finances and budget documents.
    • Experience working with faculty/students or in an academic setting.
    • Familiarity with university or nonprofit budgeting, tracking, and other procedures and requirements
    • Proficiency in communication, budgeting/finance, project management, and federal grant systems (e.g., , ERA Commons, ASSIST).
    • Strong demonstration of competency to read, comprehend, and apply complex Request for Proposal requirements.
    • Ability to understand, execute, and track grant and contractual requirements towards ensuring financial compliance with sponsor requirements.
    • Project management focus to implement and monitor a complex set of deliverables and deadlines.
    • Strong attention to detail to ensure financial/transaction accuracy.
    • Ability to successfully work with others in a collaborative manner.
    Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
