Position Information:


Salary:


Construction Project Inspector I :
$2, $2,606.29 Biweekly
Construction Project Inspector


II :
$2, $2,739.58 Biweekly
Construction Project Inspector


III:
$2, $3,181.74 Biweekly


Examinations:

Should an oral examination be necessary, the oral examination will be weighted at 100%.

Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.


Employment Standards:


Level I:

Completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university,
AND one (1) year of directly related commercial construction experience.


OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the necessary knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Coursework in Construction or Construction Management is preferred.

Qualifying experience would be commercial construction experience such as a Construction Superintendent or Construction Manager at the General Contractor or Developer level.


Level II:

Completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university,
AND two (2) years experience equivalent to a Construction Project Inspector I,
OR five (5) years of directly related commercial construction experience;
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the necessary knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Coursework in Construction or Construction Management is preferred.

Qualifying experience would be commercial construction experience such as a Construction Superintendent or Construction Manager at the General Contractor or Developer level.


Level III:

Completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university,
AND two (2) years experience an equivalent to a Construction Project Inspector II,
OR six (6) years of directly related commercial construction experience;
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the necessary knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Course work in Construction or Construction Management is preferred.

Qualifying experience would be commercial construction experience such as a Construction Superintendent or Construction Manager at the General Contractor or Developer level.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

Possess and maintain a valid Class "C" California Driver's License.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:


  • Commercial Electrical Inspector, Commercial Plumbing Inspector, Commercial Mechanical Inspector, Commercial Combination Inspector awarded by the International Code Council.
  • Class A Certification awarded by the Office of State Health Planning & Development (OSHPD).
