The Memory Care Manager serves as a key leader in our dementia/memory care community for all residents and associates. The role leads and directs all care, services, and programming within the Inspired Living memory care neighborhood. This position will have a heavy focus on engagement and well-being for our moms and dads. You should be able to develop, implement, and lead activities that our moms and dads will thrive in


Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates Character Leadership through role modeling a professional demeanor, approaching others in a tactful manner, reacting well under pressure, treating others with respect, accepting responsibility for one's own actions, and following through on commitments, doing what is right.
  • Assure quality resident care is provided, consistent with the mission of the company, company policies and budget objectives. Prepare reports of surveys, complaints, inspections, resident assignments, audits, fires, disasters, legal problems and any other unusual or non-routine matter. Complete or ensure the completion of resident medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc. Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in each resident's personal and health care needs through a generous spirit.
  • Maintains overall responsibility for relationships with families. Regularly meets with families regarding any concerns, needs or questions that may arise regarding our residents' care.
  • Effectively collaborates, communicates, and connects with the Executive Director and Health and Wellness Director on a consistent basis in order to ensure smooth operations, quality of relationships, and highest level of outcomes.
  • Assure that established budget guidelines for the memory care neighborhood are maintained through the development, implementation and monitoring of budget control and cost containment programs. Implement timely corrections for cost overruns.
  • Views the care setting as the residents' home and works to create attributes of home within the memory care neighborhood.
  • Attract, retain, coach and lead a team of high performing associates. Creates system to maintain consistency of care team.
  • In collaboration with team, problem solves complex medical/psychosocial situations related to resident choice and risk.
  • Coordinate and/or lead monthly in services to assure compliance with memory care state regulations and Inspired Living standards. Provide "on the spot" coaching to address issues that arise and require training and direction.
  • Take the lead in move-ins to the memory care neighborhood. Assist family prior to move in to determine plan for transition. Is present at time of move in. Coordinates all aspects of move in. Is the point person on move in day for the family and department directors.
  • Coordinates and facilitates family service plan meetings as required by the state regulations and the Inspired Living standard.
  • Attends and participates in continuing education opportunities through webinars, local and state conferences, and CEU programs.
  • Works closely with the sales and marketing team. Supports the sales process in planning, tours, follow-up and overall accountability to operating a Memory Care that is attractive to prospects; regularly works within the sales database to help facilitate the next steps with prospective residents and their families. Assists in the development of relationships with referral sources. Available for presentations, speaking engagements, and sales calls.
  • Shares on-call and manager on duty responsibilities/shifts as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Skills


Supervise Associates in the memory care neighborhood of the Community (Memory Care nursing and care team report to the Memory Care Manager; Maintenance and Dining Services associates report to the Department Director with a "dotted line" to the Memory Care Manager; in the event the Memory Care Manager is not a clinical nurse, the Health and Wellness director offers clinical oversight); overseeing daily activities of all departmental Associates; discipline and develop the staff to ensure compliance; lead the Community's Associates with a focus on compassionate care, resident satisfaction, Associate satisfaction, and operational excellence.


Travel Requirements
Up to 10%, primarily locally, with occasional overnight travel


Work Environment


Works in a well-lighted area that is ventilated and as physically, physiologically and psychologically innocuous as possible under the conditions which exist at any particular time.

On occasion, there may be exposure to outdoor spaces, which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects.
