The Packaging Operator will perform a variety of tasks including the setup and operation of our railcar loadout system, bulk bagging, and palletizing machines.

In addition, our Operators will be expected to be proficient in forklift and trackmobile operation, all in accordance with our quality and safety procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Live the Omya Values; Modesty, Courtesy, Integrity, and Perseverance.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and practices to achieve a zero (0) lost time injury record within the area of responsibility. Perform work duties in accordance with Omya Quality Systems Manual procedures.
  • Machine setup and operation in accordance to customer specifications and packaging schedule.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment with the ability to resolve small mechanical issues.
  • Attention to quality of products in all aspects of packaging, loading, and shipment. Finished products must meet customers' expectations and requirements.
  • Adequate understanding of paperwork and shipment systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of forklift and trackmobile operation, including safe driving techniques.
  • Ability to load products into trucks, boxcars, and railcars.
  • Ability to run railcar wash system.
  • Keep work area clean, safe, and in orderly condition. Perform daily safety and mechanical inspections of work area and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety regulations. Report immediately any accidents, safety violations, or other incidents to the area supervisor.
  • Ability to work overtime and accept callins on occasion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Skills and abilities to operate forklifts and industrial equipment. Computer literate. Ability to read, understand, and communicate various procedures. Mechanical and operational troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Must be able to lift up to and including 75 lbs., as well as, the ability to perform various physical requirements; such as reaching, climbing, lifting, moving on and off a forklift, and various other activities required for the position.

This posting is for our 3rd Shift, the schedule is 11pm - 7:30am, Monday night through Saturday morning. With shift differential, the starting wage equals $24 per hour._

Pay:
Up to $27.00 per hour
