The Procurement Project Manager, also known as Procurement III, will play a pivotal role in managing procurement activities for complex construction projects.
The successful candidate will possess strong project management skills, exceptional negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of procurement processes within the steel industry.
Your expertise in sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers will directly impact our project timelines, costs, and overall success.Key Responsibilities:
Project Procurement Management:
Lead procurement efforts for assigned construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely acquisition of materials and services while adhering to project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Vendor Management:
Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating favorable terms and conditions to optimize pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
Strategic Sourcing:
Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to support project objectives, including identifying new suppliers, conducting market research, and fostering strategic partnerships.
Contract Administration:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and purchase agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies and procedures.
Cost Management:
Monitor procurement costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate price fluctuations and budget overruns.

Assess and mitigate procurement-related risks, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing contingency plans to minimize project disruptions.
Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, anticipate procurement needs, and align procurement strategies with overall project objectives.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, correspondence, and vendor performance evaluations. Prepare regular reports and updates for management and project teams.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function, implementing best practices, tools, and technologies to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and drive cost savings.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing procurement activities, including environmental regulations, labor laws, and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) preferred.
5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related field, with at least 2 years of experience in a project management role within the construction or steel industry.
Proven track record of successfully managing procurement activities for large-scale construction projects, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management principles, and legal frameworks governing procurement activities.Travel as required.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on driving results, fostering teamwork, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
