    Description

    Role: DevOps Engineer-EKS, Harness

    Location: Chicago, IL - hybrid - Local candidates preferred

    Duration: 6+ Months

    Job Summary:

    The DevOps Engineer role entails the management and upkeep of global enterprise platforms, maintenance of monitoring system templates, integration with BigPanda, ensuring quality alerting within the BigPanda eventing platform, CMDB integration, and adherence to monitoring Best Practices for AWS cloud.

    • 10+ years experience in Information Technology
    • 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS production systems
    • Datadog proficiency
    • Expertise in site and log monitoring tools, particularly Datadog
    • Preferred: Certified AWS SysOps Administrator
    • Proficient in TypeScript & JavaScript
    • Familiarity with DynamoDB, S3, and Cognito
    • Strong grasp of Serverless and CloudFormation
    • Thorough understanding of AWS best practices, EC2, EKS, Couchbase, and container monitoring

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deploy, configure, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Harness
    • Ensure smooth automation and deployment processes across various environments
    • Oversee capacity planning, updates, upgrades, and internal integration
    • Administer monitoring tools in the APM space
    • Collaborate with DevOps and Problem Management teams for escalated support
    • Maintain uptime, availability, and reporting
    • Mentor and train support staff on tool usage
    • Stay updated on current technology trends
    • Additional duties as required

    Requirements:

    • Manage application availability, latency, and system health monitoring
    • Set alert standards for production environments
    • Enhance visibility for development teams through logging and indexing strategies
    • Create and manage configuration scripts for Amazon infrastructure
    • Ensure high availability in collaboration with the development team and management
    • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible
    • Develop cost and stability reporting dashboards
    • Provide support for alarms and outages as needed
    • Experience with Windows Server, IIS, Docker, and Kubernetes
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of systems and networks
    • Knowledge of automated build pipelines and continuous integration tools
