Job Overview:
Portfolio Operating Partner

We are hiring an Operating Partner who will play an essential leadership role in our Firm, The Pave.

The Pave is a private equity fund that acquires top performing companies in the civil construction space, with a particular focus on paving and earthwork.


This person will play a pivotal role and will be responsible for directly managing and helping the management teams of 3-6 Paving companies become more operationally efficient and grow.

We target companies between 10-30M dollars of revenue with 8-20% net margin.


This role will provide strong growth opportunities where you will be on the ground level of an emerging fund which will give you the opportunity to directly interface with the General Partners, Investment Committee and have opportunities to grow within the firm.


You will report directly to the General Partners of The Pave and will be instrumental in building out the support and back end infrastructure of our portfolio of companies.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with Management Teams on strategies to increase operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage full life cycle recruitment process and onboarding of key management team executives and directors.
  • Provide leadership in planning, forecasting, and due diligence to support the company growth objectives.
  • Develop multiyear business scenarios to establish a planning foundation to assist senior level management in providing the structural needs for growth.
  • Assist the management team in identifying, prioritizing, and executing the key strategic initiatives across the business plans.
  • Develop strategic direction and growth initiatives in a format that clearly outlines ROI for the sponsors approval.
  • Map out industry landscapes, develop a plan for partial growth through acquisitions and execute accordingly.
  • Strategically lead mapping revenue projections, budget forecasts, and production expense management.
  • Ensure that other companies within the portfolio are collaborating and communicating our strategic initiatives, making sure that the right team members are included to ensure successful delivery of information.
  • Work with senior leaders to assess and develop their growth potential, effectiveness and performance.
  • Partner with the individual strategic leaders of each business line to establish unit realistic performance objectives, training, education, coaching and mentoring.
  • Contribute to innovation efforts to continue to expand revenue opportunities and increase profitability across all portfolio companies.
  • Assist with growth initiatives to include more acquisitions and partnership identification strategies.
  • Identify, research, and develop new opportunities/business ventures that fall within and outside of existing lines of business.
  • Identify and supervise human capital resources to leverage existing team to generate additional revenue.
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset through the company culture.

Requirements:


  • Extensive experience in the civil construction space directly operating and managing companies doing 2030M dollars per year in revenue.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead a diverse management team throughout the country.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong EQ and IQ intelligence
  • Extensive experience in hiring operators in the civil construction industry.
  • Strong business acumen with the confidence to teach others.
  • Demonstrated experience as a creative problem solver with the ability to structure and solve complex issues.
  • The ability to forecast, budget and give visibility into complex processes.
  • Dynamic leadership skills with the ability to inspire growth opportunities.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to a fastchanging environment.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Selfmotivated, detailoriented, and able to work autonomously.
  • 25% Travel is required

Salary:

- $120-250k base salary
