    The Chicago Quantum Exchange (CQE) is an intellectual hub for advancing the science and engineering of quantum information among the CQE community, across the Midwest, and around the globe.

    A catalyst for research activity across its member and partner institutions, the CQE is based at the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering and is anchored by the U.S.

    Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Northwestern University.

    Job Summary


    The Manager of Digital Communications develops, plans, and disseminates timely and informative content (website, social media, video, graphic, and other) that clearly communicates the mission, accomplishments, and activities of the CQE and its members.

    Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Manager of Digital Communications works on both content and technical matters and collaborates on creating and executing a robust strategy for digital storytelling.

    Responsibilities
    Creates, updates, and executes longterm and shortterm strategic plans for digital content

    in collaboration with the Director of Communications.
    Develops,

    deploys,

    and

    manages

    the daytoday operations of the CQE website, including creating daily content updates and monitoring new and existing pages for consistency in tone, content, design, imagery, brand identity, and architecture.

    Creates, develops, and curates content for social media, including LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter, maintaining knowledge of social media trends and best practices.

    manages

    other

    digital

    materials,

    including

    weekly listserv emails,

    a quarterly

    digital

    newsletter, CQE slide decks, handouts, and multimedia digital assets.

    Manages mailing lists for listservs and newsletters and maintains brand identity and visual consistency across materials.
    Works with outside web developers on


    upgrades, design, and technical changes to the existing website, and identifies and resolves technical problems in collaboration with outside web developers.

    Conceives, plans, and promotes functionality changes

    to the website.
    Ensures that posted content complies with CQE and University policies, including accessibility requirements.

    Builds and strengthens relationships with CQE members and partners to significantly enhance the CQE web and social media communications efforts, including by sharing and soliciting content for amplification and identifying and pursuing opportunities for collaboration.

    Helps train and support CQE constituents in social media and digital communications.
    Oversees

    planning,

    production, and editing of video and audio projects, including

    video and closed caption uploading

    and integration into website and social media channels.

    Develops, plans, and disseminates information designed to keep the public informed of the organization's programs, accomplishments, or point of view.

    Solves moderate to complex problems related to the writing, preparation, and/or delivery of information from or about the unit.
    Performs other related work as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications


    Education:
    Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
    Work

    Experience:
    Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 57 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

    Managing web, social media, and multimedia communications.
    Working within an academic unit and/or complex research university environment.

    Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems, and Drupal.
    Web development and project management experience in an academic setting.
    Working in Windows and Mac environments.
    Experience and skill in graphic design.
    Demonstrated knowledge of digital audio and video editing.
