The Administrative Assistant works closely and collaboratively with the Director of Quality, Health Equity, and Innovation, Associate Director of Quality Improvement, and Associate Director of Health Equity, assisting with a variety of confidential office and administrative functions, as well as administrative and clerical support including but not limited to placing orders, researching, addressing daily inquiries from other departments, responding to daily correspondence, and follow up on daily assignments.

Director of Quality, Health Equity, and Innovation


Qualifications:


  • High school graduate or General Educational Development (GED) Certificate equivalency, with two years of business school or community college or two years of secretarial experience preferred.
  • Five years of experience in office environment is preferred.
  • Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and contemporary general office practices and procedures.
  • Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets, calculate/balance invoices/expense reports, and strong analytical skills.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Calendar, SharePoint, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and others.
  • Strong work organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be an effectively as a team player.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
  • Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under mínimal supervision. Self-starter, reliable and dependable. 14. Fluency in English (speaks, read and write).
  • Fluency in Spanish (speaks, translate, read and write).
  • Have integrity and be trustworthy. Maintain work commitments and keep the Purchasing Manager informed of work progress, timetables and any issues or problems which may arise.
  • Current California driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC's insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
