    Job Type Part-timeDescriptionWe pride ourselves on providing a superlative guest experience and this is what drives us. We are currently looking for a motivated and hard-working individual to join our team as a Bakery Associate.

    The Bakery Associate plays a critical role on the team and is responsible for finishing packaging of desserts, making deliveries, supporting baking processes, and maintaining a sanitary work environment in the bakery.

    The bakery associate works directly with the bakers to ensure all tasks are completed with care and at a high level of excellence.

    The bakery associate will support the bakers in all areas of baking to ensure that the recipes for breads and pastries are prepared to exact specifications for our retail and wholesale customers.

    We have built a reputation for impeccable bread and pastries and the successful candidate will be able to maintain that reputation.

    The ideal candidate is also able to start work in the early morning hours as is typical for a bakery operation.

    An Apprentice Baker works closely with our Executive Pastry Chef and has the opportunity to learn from one of the best bakers in our area.

    The bakery is located in the historic Hawley Silk Mill Building.

    The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma, at least one-year prior relevant experience, and knowledge of food safety and handling requirements.

    Formal culinary training is highly desired.

    In addition, the Baker/Finisher must have excellent customer service skills, effective oral and written skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Deliver bakery orders to restaurants and clientsPackage finished bakery products to precise specificationsSupport the preparation of baked goods following established recipes and procedures and maintains a high quality and consistent productClean work areas and all equipment used in food preparationUnderstands and communicates all store promotions to customersMonitor product levels and re-stocks as required, rotating goods to reduce shrinkageMaintain work area in a neat and organized mannerPerform other duties as assigned RequirementsQualifications: Follows safety and sanitation rules and practicesHigh school diploma or high school equivalency diploma preferredOne year of relevant experienceFormal culinary training a plusExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenExcellent customer service focusKnowledge of general sanitary and safety practicesAble to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as neededAble to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
