Position Summary:
The Director of Transfer Center collaborates with the National Director to develop growth strategies and outreach initiatives. They are responsible for creating Transfer Center protocols that prioritize patient-centered care to ensure efficient transfer management.
Working closely with the Transfer Center Manager, this role oversees the implementation of policies, procedures, and standards to facilitate safe and EMTALA-compliant transfers in a 24/7 operation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the 24/7 operation, aligning with the hospital's mission, vision, goals, and objectives, with a focus on patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and the community.
- Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with hospital and community leadership.
- Maintain ongoing accountability for assessing, improving, coordinating, and integrating department services and standards of care into the hospital's primary function.
- Engage in strategic planning, reporting, budgetary and fiscal accountability, employee evaluation, regulatory compliance, and approval of supply orders.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), Business Administration, Management, related field, or equivalent minimum experience requirements.
Experience:
- Preferred: 5 years of nursing management experience in a hospital setting with at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Previous experience as a manager or director of a transfer center program is desirable.
Certifications:
- Preferred: Registered Nurse license; BLS.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift/position up to 25 lbs. and push/pull up to 25 lbs. of force.
- Engage in frequent sitting and moderate standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending.
- Manual dexterity, mobility, touch, and auditory skills required to perform all related duties of the position.
