- Execute the chemical and aerodynamic design, analysis, and evaluation of a combustor using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements.
- Expertise in delivering aerodynamic solutions using 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D tools with gas turbines. Experience in designing new combustor systems that are optimized and reliable for high altitude applications.
- Perform fuel spray system development and evaluation to ensure stable combustion.
- Lead component and system trades from an aerodynamic perspective. Set test objectives and limits, instrumentation and test data requirements, and test planning to execute component validation.
- Serve as the aerodynamic design subject matter expert as part of a diverse system design team. Ensure products and sub-systems meet overall requirements from a design perspective. Advocate for component durability while understanding the trade-offs and business decisions necessary to deliver the best overall solution. Coordinate with other analysis engineers and hardware owners to optimize the overall system to meet product requirements.
- Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance, stress and life, additive manufacturing, materials and system analysis
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Lead methodologies to develop new technologies to optimize the overall aerodynamic performance of a gas turbine with additive manufacturing. Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design to drive further capability in combustor systems.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices
- Work with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve producibility and quality issues
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- At least 12 years of experience in gas turbine and combustor design
- Strong understanding of design software tools
- Experience working with gas turbines for aviation product applications from a mechanical and aero design perspective.
- Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles.
- Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability.
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills.

Role Overview:
Beehive Industries is looking for an energetic and driven Principal Engineer, Combustor Module Leader that has experience working with aviation product applications gas turbine experience from a mechanical and aero design perspective. This role will partner with various cross-functional leadership on a daily basis facilitating development and delivery of a gas turbine combustor system.
