    Description
    Project/Team: Support Services, Defense

    Location: Client Site - Tampa, FL (relocation package available for candidates outside of the Tampa area)

    Background:

    Navanti has an immediate need for a Data Scientist to support a DoD client on site. The ideal candidate will specific expertise with coding in R language.

    Necessary Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of experience with programming languages, including R, Python, or C++
    • Experience working with structured, unstructured, or semi-structured data in support of scientific or economic analysis
    • Experience cleansing data for data science applications
    • Experience programming/coding mathematical models
    • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, testing, and version control
    • Experience with data visualization tools and best practices
    • Ability to quickly learn new skillsets to solve challenging problems
    • Ability to prioritize multiple work tasks, deliver products on time, within, and to quality standards
    Ideal Qualifications:
    • Experience supporting Special Operations or DoD organizations
    • Experience processing (NLP)
    • Experience designing, developing, or leveraging relational databases (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL or MS SQL
    • Experience with web development frameworks, including Shiny, Django, or Flask
    • Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, or data lake houses
    • Experience with cloud services, including AWS or Azure
    • Experience working in an Agile development environment collaborating with Application Developers, Infrastructure Engineers, and stakeholders
    • Experience with CI/CD, including Git, Jenkins, and Docker
    • using and deploying machine learning algorithms, including natural language
    Education:
    • Minimum of a BA/BS in related area of study
    Clearance:
    • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance preferred, minimum of SECRET required
