Job Summary:


The lead barista has proven ability to provide quality customer service and demonstrated knowledge of coffee products, equipment, and tea products.

The lead barista has responsibility for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer. Lead baristas are instrumental in building customer relationships and fostering a positive and friendly store environment. They also provide technical guidance to new team members and assist in the training program.

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.


  • Assist to manage and supervise associates in the Starbucks Department.
  • Responsible for assisting the Department Manager with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with brand policies and standards.
  • Responsibilities may include ordering and receiving product; completing paperwork; interviewing and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; assist in appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • The lead barista fulfills any other duties the store manager and/or the assistant manager assigns and represents the hotel and Starbucks in a professional manner.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The Hotel may consider equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities cited below, when applicable

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
  • Committed to providing unparalleled customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and desire to advance stores current position in the community through involvement in local activities.
  • Willingness to participate in training and team orientation and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
  • Flexible enough to manage multiple tasks.
  • Works effectively under pressure and with distractions.
  • Demonstrates patience when interacting with associates and customers.

Physical Demands:


  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle,or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, occasionally lift up to 60 pounds, and reach from 672 inches.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, plus color and depth perception.
