Position Overview:


Reporting directly to the Executive Housekeeper, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising the cleanliness and upkeep of all guest rooms and public spaces in the hotel.

The Housekeeping Supervisor will assist in opening the Housekeeping operation, inspecting guest rooms and public spaces for adherence to all cleanliness standards, assisting in inventory and payroll responsibilities and ensuring an efficient day-to-day operation.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Provides dynamic training and guidance for the Housekeeping team to ensure all hotel and company standards are exceeded
  • Ensures a successful operation by assisting in the planning of daily boards in a fair and efficient manner, ensuring all team members work within company MPOR guidelines, and reports on MPOR daily
  • Assists with monthly reporting by maintaining housekeeping inventory
  • Inspects and evaluates physical condition of establishment (room quality, cleanliness, facilities) to include VIP rooms, ensuring service standards are met
  • Coordinate with Engineering department to ensure all guest rooms and public space is maintained utilizing a keen attention to detail
  • Responsible for maintaining uptodate and complete knowledge of brand requirements to ensure all brand audits are passed to company expectations
  • Oversees lost and found program, ensuring items are catalogued correctly and guest relations are enhanced
  • Compiles and reports accurate status of guest rooms to communicate with Front Office
  • Establishes and maintains adequate supplies for efficient operation of department; conducts inventories of linen, supplies and equipment on a monthly basis, communicating with Executive Housekeeper regarding ordering
  • Ensures proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for employees and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with property's Hazcom program
  • Evaluates condition of furniture, fixtures, decor, etc. Make recommendations and assist in the coordination of rehab projects
  • 4 Year College degree preferred in Hospitality or Business field
  • 2+ years of experience in hotel industry, preferably Housekeeping area
  • Management experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in wring, to respond to guest requests and give direction to coworkers, vendors, contractors; prepare reports
  • Strong computer skills
  • Maintains professionalism at all times, demonstrating courtesy and respect to guests and coworkers
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts
  • Ability to multitask
