Job Summary:
A Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment machinery and equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and more.
They work closely with construction crews and project managers to complete tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently.Responsibilities:
1.
Equipment Operating:
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site
- Conduct safety checks on equipment and ensure that all safety devices are functioning correctly
- Report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or safety violations immediately
2.
Safety Compliance:
- Inspect heavy equipment machinery for defects prior to use
- Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring the safe operation of heavy equipment and the protection of personnel and property
3.
Grading and Excavation:
- Perform grading and excavation work to prepare the site for construction
- Achieve precise levels and slopes as specified in project plans
4.
Material Handling:
- Load and unload materials, debris, and equipment using heavy machinery
- Transport materials and equipment to different areas of the construction site as needed
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials and equipment to prevent damage or accidents
5.
Communication:
- Maintain open and effective communication with project managers, construction crew, and other stakeholders
- Report project progress, challenges, and deviations from the plan to higher management
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
- Drivers License Preferred
- Certification or licensure as a heavy equipment operator
- Strong understanding of equipment maintenance and safety procedures
- Physical fitness and stamina to work in demanding outdoor conditions and operate heavy equipment for extended periods
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
