ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


The preceding duties are examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job

classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments and to

Individuals must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily. The requirements

listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required. Reasonable

accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. The

following are the necessary duties to be performed:

-Reports to HR Manager

-Ensures compliance with human resources related policies; all applicable federal, state and local

employment laws and regulations including EEO and FLSA.

-Administers benefit program to include health, dental, vision, life insurance and any other benefits

for employees and conducts open enrollment.

-Updates benefit information changes on spreadsheets as needed.

-Updates Temp Headcount and Staff Report spreadsheets for accounting.

-Maintains staff training report - Harassment Prevention and all policies (Pandemic, Safety, and

Annual)

-Oversees and records staff vaccination status and weekly test result compliance as necessary.

-Oversees FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other leave laws in accordance with applicable policies and

procedures.

-Updates FMLA and LOA spreadsheets for staff on leave and administers return to work

procedures including benefits payments while on leave.

-Provides staff training on human resources, federal, state laws, policies and regulations; interprets to staff on human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, regulations and benefits.

-Has understanding of payroll guidelines and required regulations for processing payroll.

-Arranges staff substitutions and updates Floater and Substitution spreadsheets as needed.

-Schedules pre-employment physicals; background checks including Live Scan.

-Reviews staff time cards daily for accuracy and notifies staff of inaccuracies.

-Process and send time cards for temporary staff for the different agencies weekly.

-Performs and documents disciplinary counseling and follow up.

-Maintains and updates employee files.

-Maintains monthly Turnover Report.

-Records staff evaluations and ensures completion.

-Maintains and processes EDD requests.

-Familiar with CA labor laws.

-Represents the company in a professional manner at all times to customers, consumers, families and stakeholders.

-Establish trust and credibility with employees at all levels of the organization.

-Must be able to meet the attendance requirements of the position.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:


-Performs other duties as assigned.

-Works independently and as a team.

-Supervisory responsibilities to lower level staff.

REQUIREMENTS:


Five (5) years' experience in the human resources field; Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human resources management, business management or closely related field. Proficient in reading, writing and math skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other human resources software programs. Valid California driver's license and driving record acceptable to insurance companies.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common and technical journals; financial reports; legal documents; respond to inquiries and complaints from staff, customers, and other stakeholders; define problems and present solutions; present the company in a professional manner to top management, public and the board of directors. Knowledge of mathematical concepts and operations; Federal, local and labor laws; human resources best practices and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Office environment. Works well under pressure of deadlines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Duties and responsibilities performed normally do require physical requirements including standing, walking, bending, squatting, and carrying, pushing, pulling and occasional lifting of material up to 30 pounds.

We are looking for an HR person who has knowledge of all laws that affect human resources management. Capable of designing and implementing internal guidelines that take these legal requirements into consideration; have a comprehensive understanding of relevant and updated HR law and its corresponding regulations; has experience in HR employment laws relating to hiring and firing, workplace safety, benefits and wage and hour, etc; able to draft review/update and draft policies that comply with H.R.
