- Leadership and Management:
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of creative professionals, including graphic designers, copywriters, and multimedia specialists.
- Provide guidance and direction to ensure the highest quality of creative output and adherence to project timelines and objectives.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages creativity and professional growth.
- Creative Development:
- Conceptualize and develop creative campaigns that effectively communicate the university's brand message and resonate with target audiences.
- Oversee the design and production of marketing materials, including print collateral, websites, email campaigns, advertising on streaming services, and multimedia content.
- Ensure consistency in design and messaging across all marketing channels and platforms.
- Strategy and Planning:
- Collaborate with the Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications to develop creative strategies and initiatives that support overall marketing objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform creative direction and innovation.
- Creative Guidelines and Standards:
- Develop and maintain creative guidelines and standards to ensure brand consistency and integrity across all marketing materials and communications.
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on brand identity, design principles, and best practices.
- Supervision and Quality Assurance:
- Supervise all work completed by the creative department, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Conduct regular reviews and evaluations to assess performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in design, marketing, brand development, or a related field, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong knowledge of marketing, brand, and design principles, as well as digital development technologies and trends.
- Experience leading and managing creative teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent concept and strategy development skills, with the ability to translate ideas into compelling visual designs and campaigns.
- Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and other relevant tools.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in higher education marketing preferred.

Summary:
The University of Lynchburg is seeking a visionary and experienced Creative Director to lead our dynamic team of creative professionals in the Marketing and Communications Department.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing the design layout and visual impact of marketing materials, products, and publications, ensuring alignment with the university's brand identity and strategic objectives.
The Creative Director will play a key role in developing and executing creative campaigns across various channels, including print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of marketing, brand development, and design principles, as well as extensive experience leading and managing creative teams.
