Position Title: TRIO Upward Bound Residential Hall Staff

Department: TRIO Upward Bound

Reports To: Director of TRIO Upward Bound

Classification: Non-Exempt

Essential Job Duties:

1. Leadership

Reside in the hall and oversee student residential life
Maintain a safe and healthy residential environment
Supervise recreational and cultural activities
Promote student well-being
Work varied shifts as scheduled
Ensure adherence to all St. Olaf and UB rules
Perform additional assigned duties

2. Collaboration

Support program staff with data management and documentation
Collaborate closely with fellow UB staff
Aid the UB leadership team with various tasks
Cultivate relationships within the St. Olaf community
Engage in recreational and cultural activities
Assist with program needs
Participate in daily staff meetings

3. Supervision

Coordinate UB activities
Ensure safety and positivity for all summer program participants
Report any concerns to the program director promptly

4. Embrace diversity to foster an inclusive community

5. Meet training and performance management deadlines

6. Fulfill assigned duties

Work Schedule:

Term: Temp (June-July)

Shift: During the academic summer program, the work-week is from Sunday to Friday with extra hours, including on-call duties

Required Qualifications:

Current undergraduate or graduate student
Ability to connect with students
Commitment to program objectives
Experience with high school students
Ability to work with the UB team
Capable of supervising activities

Experience: 1+ years related experience, especially with diverse student populations, previous supervision experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: Previous involvement with St. Olaf College UB, prior supervision experience
