***A Family Support Coordinator acts as the primary contact for families in need of welfare, emotional guidance, or other support. Their job is to serve as a bridge between a family and any relevant support agencies. Their main goal is to reduce the time that families in trouble have to wait for care. Under direct supervision of the Program Manager, this role provides social service coordination to families in Cochise County with children age 0-5 years old, as well as information/referrals to support and assist parents with the tools to promote healthy child development in the early years of life. A Family Support Coordinator will provide comprehensive family services for a minimum of 90 days up to 120 days to support the families Protective Factor Framework and ensure the family thrives.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in child development, family studies, psychology, social work or related area of study, or experience equivalent of a Bachelor's degree including completion of a 2 year +AA degree plus 2 years of experience or

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have access to safe, reliable transportation with valid automobile insurance.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance card.
  • Complete CPR and First Aid certifications within 90 days of hire and maintain the certifications throughout employment.
  • Minimum of 20 hours per Fiscal Year of continuing education and competency building, including but not limited, to Relias Learning, Conference, Workshops, and/or Outside Training.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with infant & child development, parentchild attachment, possible behavioral health dynamics of caregivers, as well as the dynamics of child abuse & neglect.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with strengthbased and familycentered provision of primary prevention services.
  • Able to identify individual/family strengths and planning/advocating around individual/family goals.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with community resources as well as how to navigate/access these resources for families (some examples of services include Social Service Agencies, Provider Systems such as behavioral health, and division of developmental disabilities.)
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills (e.g., nonjudgmental, objective, reflective, empathic, patient, tactful).
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to promote clear understanding.
  • Be selfmotivated and work independently, cohesively within team dynamics, and under direct supervision to effectively meet program requirements/objectives.
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, keep appropriate records, and develop effective programmatic communications with supervisory guidance.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in cultural diversity, substance abuse, sexual abuse, family violence that may have an impact of child abuse and neglect on child development, required.
  • Demonstrate interest and ability to advocate with and on behalf of lowincome, diverse families, required.
  • Previous experience in family support coordination or resource navigation services, preferred.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly desirable (will consider other languages)

Schedule:
Regular - Full Time (FT), Days, M-F, 8 am - 5 pm
