    Job Description

    We are looking for a talented, creative, and driven manufacturing engineer to drive our communication systems from initial concept development to full scale production. The position will own the relationship between the engineering development, supply chain, production, and test teams. The role measures its success based on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and the ability to achieve deliveries within expected timelines.

    This role is based on-site in our Hawthorne, California office and reports directly to the Head of Production. While the job requires on-site support primarily, Mynaric remains flexible in working arrangements as needed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluates, creates, and improves manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
    • Develop, implement, maintain, and improve current manufacturing processes, including equipment, documentation, training, gages and tooling/fixtures, to optimize quality, productivity and cost performance.
    • Interface regularly with the program management and production to assure clear and concise communication in a leadership role.
    • Identify and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing process problems through testing, evaluation, and analysis.
    • Lead the design for manufacturability process, prepares process FMEAs, root cause analyses, plans facility, equipment, and resource changes and initial product builds, and ensure that Manufacturing deliverables to Development Project Plans, are completed and on time.
    • Identifies any problems with new products; makes adjustments and/or provides recommendations to resolve issues and problems with engineering, production and test teams.
    • Provide and implement DFX solutions on a continuous basis throughout the lifecycle of the product line.
    • Design and implement assembly, test and automation processes and tooling that supports volume manufacturing with a quality assurance mindset.
    • Continuous collaboration with the design, test and operations fostering a team-oriented mindset that supports an alignment towards organizational goals.
    • Lead prototype builds ensuring incremental milestones for the production development are met.
    • Identify tooling and test hardware requirements, design and implement into production processes.
    • Identify automation opportunities and establish requirements as well as evaluating return on investment for each.
    • Work with in-house resources or vendors as necessary to develop these solutions and implement on production line.
    • Performs other related duties as required.

    Desired Skills/Experience

    • Demonstrated experience working in a highly adaptive and iterative environment.
    • Experience transitioning products from design to environmental testing and scaling to high volume as part of a cross-functional team.
    • Experience with DOE, gage R&R and process qualifications.
    • Experience defining production data requirements and SPC.
    • Experience integrating electromechanical assemblies with both manual and automated processes.
    • Experience with NX, Solidworks and Teamcenter.
    • SQL experience
    • Experience working with and defining requirements for ERP, MRP and MES systems.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports and proposals.
    • Team player that has a service mentality and thrives in fast paced environments.
    • Ability to work independently and to reliably "get things done ", even in high-pressure situations.
    • Team player focused on achieving the best result for Mynaric and its employees.
    • Experience within a rapidly changing and growing environment.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing or a related field
    • 2-4 years' manufacturing experience in aerospace, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environment.
    • Must be a U.S. Person –
      • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
    • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. unassisted.
    • Able to travel throughout US and to Germany for short and extended trips as needed

    Job Type: Full-time

    Compensation: $84,000 - $95,000

    This base pay range is for the role located in Los Angeles, California and in the US and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. In addition to competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
