SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of Refrigeration/Boiler equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.
Maintain FM Meat Products LP Boilers and Refrigeration Equipment, Assets, Processes, compliance programs and Areas as required to eliminate Downtime, Unsafe Conditions, USDA issues and Food Safety Concerns.
State and Federal Guideline Compliances.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Initiates, implements, and manages the maintenance program based on best practices in the food processing industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance. Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
- Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenancerelated problems.
- Ensures that maintenance personnel are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and costeffective manner
- Communicates regularly with all maintenance personnel, both individually and as a group, to ensure good twoway communication concerning maintenance issues.
- Assists with hiring of maintenance personnel.
- Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance personnel.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance personnel.
- Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the Refrigeration System are met at all times.
- Communicates/Coordinates directly with the operation departments to coordinate maintenance and repair work in processing areas.
- Communicates directly with QA to ensure compliance by maintenance personnel in GMP while performing various maintenance duties in both processing and nonprocessing areas.

- Experience:_
Preferably 5 to 7 years of experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with repairs and maintenance of Refrigeration/Boiler equipment.
- Preferred Skills/Qualifications:_
Must have the ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System and instruct others on its operation.
