This approach has been validated through design, build, and test of the company's first combined turbojet-ramjet engine and is now being scaled through its first flight vehicle program, Quarterhorse.
Hermeus is also developing Darkhorse - an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed to deliver unique asymmetric capabilities to the warfighter. We are currently seeking a Principal Avionics Engineer to be a part of our team.As a Principal Avionics Engineer, you will be responsible for requirements generation and decomposition, architecture development, build, integration, and test of avionics hardware systems associated with our data-acquisition stack, compute stack, and network architecture.
You will be responsible for internal cross-functional collaboration as well as collaboration with external supplies and partners for avionics component selection, procurement, and integrationResponsibilitiesAvionics System Design and IntegrationLead the design, development, and integration of avionics systems for high-speed aircraft, including the data-acquisition stack, compute stack, and network architectureCollaborate closely with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integratino of avionics systems with aircraft subsystemsTechnical Expertise and InnovationStay up-to-date with the latest advancements in avionics technologies, tools, and techniques relevant to high-speed aircraftProvide technical guidance and mentorship to the avionics engineering team, promoting professional development and knowledge sharingCross-functional collaborationWork closely with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, and software, to ensure integration of avionics systems into the overall aircraft architectureCollaborate with external suppliers and partners for avionics component selection, procurement, and integrationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)Extensive experience (7 years) in avionics engineeringProven track record in designing, developing, and certifying avionics systems for aerospace applicationsDeep understanding of avionics technologies, systems engineering principles, and industry standards (e.g.
