Position Description:


As a Metrology Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for working alongside the First Article Inspection and Polymer Process Development teams in inspecting materials, tooling, fixtures, etc and will assist with engineering projects and implementation of inspection equipment.


Position Requirements:

  • Understand and follow Applied Manufacturing's Quality Systems (QS) per training.
  • Read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Understand and comply with safety rules and Company policies.
  • Operate and/or program measurement equipment including but not limited to Keyence IM 7030T, Nikon VMR systems, and various measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, block gages, etc.
  • Assist in researching, designing, and implementing of inspection fixtures
  • Develop or update inspection instructions, manufacturing instructions, metrology reports, and other engineering documentation
  • Communicate with various departments regarding actions required by the engineering team
  • Plan, organize, and perform tasks and deliverables related to Engineering projects
  • Perform other engineering related activities as assigned
  • Metrology Engineering Technician II will perform the the listed activities with mínimal supervision. Metrology Engineering Technician III will perform the tasks listed with mínimal supervision and may mentor Metrology Engineering Technician I and II on best practices for completing the listed tasks.
  • Execute test protocols and reports, conduct various testing, collect and analyze data and trends
  • Maintain lab equipment and spare parts inventory
  • Understand and follow Applied Manufacturing's Quality Systems (QS) per training.
  • Read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Understand and comply with safety rules and Company policies.
  • Must be proficient with using Keyence and Nikon Vision System (or similar) and other measuring tools including: calipers, micrometers, blocks and gauges
  • Must be able to fixture components to execute specifications per engineering drawing
  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings per ASMEY1
  • Must be proficient with a variety of computer programs. These may include spreadsheets and word processing, as required by job function
  • Must have a technical aptitude and be detail oriented

Preferred:
The following skills and attributes are preferred but not required:

  • Technical trade school training or equivalent technical experience
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience with First Article Inspection or Quality Control Inspection
  • Experience with CMM technology
  • Experience in manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, extrusion, and stamping
  • Experience with measurement uncertainty & error reports
