    Description

    Utilizes his/her technical abilities to simulate and/or deliver a course of radiation therapy as prescribed by a radiation oncologist for patients. The simulation process may involve using x-rays and computerized tomography (CT), fabrication of immobilization devices, assisting physicians with placement of localization devices. Scheduled in the simulator on a regular basis and must operate the CT simulator independently.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Therapy or equivalent educ/experience A combination of directly related work experience, training, and education
  • Completion of the 24 month course in Radiologic Technology and a 12-month course in Radiation Therapy Technology; or the completion of a 24 month course in Radiation Therapy Technology
  • Upon hire: Washington Radiologic Technologist or
  • Upon hire: National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • 3 years employed by the Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in the Radiation Oncology department as a radiation therapist
  • 3 months demonstrated experience and proficiency in Radiation Therapy Simulation (SIM)
  • 3 months demonstrated experience Varian linear accelerators, Mosaiq oncology management system. and GE CT scanners
