    Position Summary


    Sibelco is currently hiring a Project Planner who will be responsible for supporting the Project Controls Director with planning and scheduling on multiple major projects The role will be a specialist in the Critical Path Method (CPM), network analysis, Project Evaluation & Review Technique (PERT) and probabilistic project planning methodologies This role will also possess strong knowledge in progress measurement and forecasting during construction execution, technical knowledge on schedule interdependency logic, developing, validating and maintaining plans and schedules through interactive cross-functional planning, coordinating planning and schedule status and progress information between project functions, construction and contractor and maintaining an up to date schedule of activities.

    Responsibilities

    Participate in cross-functional interactive planning for development of project delivery and execution strategies through full project lifecycle.

    Take part in project schedule quality, assurance, and benchmark reviews for stage-gate approvals and baselining.


    Develop and maintain resource-loaded Level 3 project schedules for identification of critical path, key milestones, long lead items, critical interfaces and handover points.


    Incorporate countermeasures and mitigation tactics to de-risk and optimize the project schedule and ensure the project risk register is maintained for schedule-related risks.


    Coordinate construction required-at-site dates with engineering, procurement and expediting to integrate schedules for monitoring progress per baseline and forecasting completion milestones.


    Facilitate detailed daily schedule status and progress updates on critical path milestones for the next three weeks, highlighting constraints and developing recovery plans and mitigation tactics.

    Provide timely and accurate schedule information for project reporting.


    Confirm front-end engineering and design progress and physical construction progress against the baseline through earned value measurement, analyze for optimization opportunities, deviations and potential risks, and develop insightful schedule analytics to enable Project Director and Steerco to make informed decisions.

    Maintain detailed log of schedule deviations, root causes and supporting documentation to inform claims and counterclaims strategy.

    Investigate ways to improve schedule performance through improved on-site productivity, reducing double handling of material, minimizing waiting time, etc.

    Qualifications

    Experience in project front-end and execution planning and scheduling in heavy industry and complex process environments is preferred.

    Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or equivalent qualification in project management is preferred.

    Relevant certifications in PMP, APICS, PMI, ITIL, CPIM, AICP, SP, PRINCE2, PSP, APCIS are an asset.

    Proficient in English. Other languages are an asset.
