What to expect in this role at Pittman

  • Performing and evaluating calculations using FEM with specific software (e.g. NASTRAN/PATRAN, Isami, Hyperworks, NASGRO, etc.)
  • Conducting analytical calculations for strength and stability according to common literature
  • Leading project teams, including resource and cost planning and reporting
  • Performing lifetime and crack growth calculations
  • Creating and reviewing stress reports (e.g. stress dossier, strength reports)
  • Reviewing and approving construction documents in PDM systems (e.g. TAKSY, MCT, etc.)
  • Supporting series production (handling non-conformities)
  • Writing and adapting programs for pre- and post-processing of calculation data
  • Organizing and conducting review meetings with clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Several years of professional experience in the aviation industry, with solid knowledge in structural calculation, statics, and F&DT
  • Excellent knowledge of NASTRAN/PATRAN, ISAMI, Hyperworks
  • Good knowledge of analytical calculation methods (e.g. Bruhn, HSB, Nui)
