RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc.
is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.
ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world's premier systems.
Our work with the U.S.Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.
Background Information:
This full-time position serves as the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Safety Manager for the Atlantic Ranges & Targets (ART) Department at NAS Pax River in Patuxent River, Maryland.
The ART Department provides airspace, real-time data acquisition, test management services, and land/sea/aerial target services to DoD and commercial test and evaluation (T&E) customers.
The Safety Manager will take the lead role in managing the OSH safety programs for the Department and will serve as the Crew Resource Manager (CRM).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the following safety programs to include training, documentation, inspection, compliance, and other required tasks where applicable:
Electro Magnetic (EM) Hazards, Energized Equipment Safety, Laser Hazards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Crane Safety, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Crew Resource Manager (CRM)
Responsible for the Fall Protection Program to include all fall prevention related issues such as tower climbing training, training documentation, climbing equipment inventory and inspection, tower climbing site plans, rescue plans, written procedures, etc.
Leverage ESAMS and/or ART Branch Heads and the Facilities Team Lead to track/enforce training completions and deficienciesReview and update safety programs as necessary, including developing and providing ART specific safety training when needed
Help develop/maintain ART Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
Chair of the Safety Committee
Facilitate Base Safety Inspections to include preparing beforehand and helping to mitigate
findings/deficiencies
Act as a Liaison with Base Mission Safety Team
Provide regular status updates and issues to management as needed
While not the lead of the HAZMAT/HAZCOM program, the Safety Manager will need to be familiar with the program and procedures

Required Education, Experience, &Certifications/Licenses:
BS/BA Degree in engineering, business, technical management or other related field from an accredited college or university
A minimum of 6 years performing the same or similar functions as stated above
In lieu of a BS/BA Degree, a High School diploma or equivalent GED and a total of 12 years of work experience performing the stated or similar function or an Associate's Degree and a total of 10 years of work experience performing the stated or similar function.
Must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsProficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required
Must be a self-starter and team-oriented
Must have a valid driver's license and successfully pass a drug screening test
Clearance Requirement:
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a United States Department of Defense issued Secret clearance
Work Conditions:
Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Some travel and occasional overtime may be required.
