We are currently seeking a Packaging Technician to join our team. This full-time person works Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - end of production.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Complete hard cider packaging (canning and kegging) from start to finish
• Cleaning and sanitation of tankage and packaging equipment
• Operation, cleaning, troubleshooting, and performing basic maintenance of production equipment consisting of hard cider pumps and lines, kegging machine, can depalletizer, can filler, labeler
• Record preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, and production volume.
• Maintain optimum equipment output throughout production line.
• Ensure quality product goes to customers by completing hourly quality checks.
• Interact with team members, quality assurance, and maintenance to maximize output and efficiency while meeting quality standards.
• Maintain work area in an organized and clean manner ensuring that safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and quality standards are met.
• Work as a team with other operators to ensure no line stoppages and to improve operations.
• Cross trained to perform work on other lines or in other production areas as needed and as time allows.
• Forklift experience is a plus but not a requirement.
• Provide vacation coverage to team members as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Key qualifications that we're looking for include:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two or more years prior experience in production within a manufacturing environment, ideally in the carbonated canned alcoholic beverage industry.
• Packaging machine operating experience including the use of machine HMIs.
• Ability to work independently or with a team and communicate effectively.
• Solid problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
• Comfort working in a lowspeed production environment.
• Ability to move/lift 50 pounds at various times over a 12hour shift
• Fluent in English, with basic math and reading skills.
• Willingness to work long days, holidays, and weekends if needed, especially in the fall during our peak season.
• Successful completion of a postoffer physical exam, drug screen and background check is required.
• Willingness and ability to work in a facility with mínimal temperature control, exposed to local temperature variations (hot and cold)

Our hard cider brand is Carlson Orchards Hard Cider. Our sweet cider brands are Carlson Orchards and Rudy's Blend. We also bottle cider for 12 family orchards in New York and New England.
