Qualifications:
Key responsibilities include but not limited to: Serves as the initial contact for admission inquiries. Routes prospective patient / inquirer to appropriate person for assessment. Answers and forwards incoming calls. Provides accurate and timely data entry, coping of documents, and daily census reports.

To assist admissions in providing direct patient care and supervision of all psychiatric patients; to ensure safety, including crisis intervention.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to communicate in a professional manner to all personnel, visitors and vendors. Must understand importance of positive communication with public, dealing with diverse group of individuals on a daily basis.


Ability to organize, communicate effectively in writing and orally in the English language, follow instructions, tolerate interruptions, and work independently with minimum supervision.

Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Must be able to be flexible with scheduling; rotating shifts as necessary. Significant computer skills, data entry, word processing, and spreadsheet development / maintenance.

Ability to consistently fulfill responsibilities and complete assignments. Skill in performing vital signs. Knowledge of patient rights.

Skill in developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with patients and cooperative / effective relationships with Licensed Clinicians, RNs, LVNs and MHTs.

Ability to read and write legibly. Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, patients and administration.


EDUCATION:

Required:
High School diploma or equivalency


Preferred:
Some college.

Preferred:
Previous work experience in a psychiatric admissions department, 6 months office experience preferred.
