Door Renew is looking to hire a skilled shop lead to assist with and oversee the process of staining, finishing, and restoring our customers' front doors.

As a shop lead, you will be responsible for the quality control and production of each door.

To ensure success as a shop lead, you should have woodworking skills, knowledge of finishing techniques, and a good eye for detail.

A shop lead should ensure that each door is expertly restored and finish wooden or fiberglass items to meet the needs of the client.

You will also need leadership, customer service and project management skills.


Shop Lead Responsibilities:

• Meeting with the customer to discuss finishing and color requirements.
• Disassembling the hardware of the door.
• Inspecting the door for rot and physical damage.
• Repairing broken parts, removing imperfections, and filling in cracks.
• Removing old finishings and excess solvent.
• Sanding and smoothing the item in preparation for finishing.
• Inspecting the refurbished product and completing job reports.
• Ensure that finishers are performing door refinishing services to brand standards and to

client's personal preferences

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every person and associate
• Work directly with the general manager to train and guide team members
• Ensure shop production in on track
• Set goals and objectives for production
• Mentor shop apprentices and ensure training is ongoing
• Shop maintenance, organization, ordering, and restocking supplies as needed

Shop Lead Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 13 years of previous experience in woodworking
• Minimum of 1 year experience in management
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Indepth knowledge of staining and finishing techniques
• Excellent handeye coordination
• Good communication skills.
• Experience with hand and power tools

Pay:
$ $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
