    POSITION: Business Development Representative
    DEPARTMENT: Sales
    CLASSIFICATION: Exempt


    **Summary**:

    - The Business Development Representative is responsible for expanding existing accounts while identifying new opportunities in various sectors such as owners, architects, general contractors, developers, healthcare, K-12/higher education, and property managers. They collaborate with internal teams to drive growth and enhance account relationships within BCS equipment and controls territories.

    - Reports to: Sales Manager
    - Direct reports: None

    Direction:
    - Minimal Supervision

    • MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
      • 60% **Business Development**
        • Builds a diverse portfolio of opportunities and strategic partnerships to facilitate BCS's growth.
        • Maintains and nurtures relationships with new and existing customers.
        • Works closely with the sales team to drive business from current clients and generate new leads.
        • Analyzes market trends and proposes initiatives to capitalize on sales opportunities.
        • Establishes collaborations with external partners for network leverage and project acquisition.
        • Assists in creating marketing strategies and tools to support sales objectives.
        • Ensures customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and maintaining communication.
        • Communicates Business Development strategy to various teams within the organization.
      • 30% **Attends Marketing/Sales/Networking Events**
        • Participates in industry functions, conferences, and community engagements to gather market insights.
        • Supports industry events and collaborates with the sales team for event coverage.
        • Engages with customers, prospects, and partners to enhance relationships.
        • Evaluates and plans for future events based on strategic objectives.
        • Contributes to event assessment and engagement strategy.
      • 10% **Training and Development**
        • Participates in sales and business development training sessions.
        • Attends seminars and learns about industry best practices.
        • Stays updated on BCS products, services, and technologies.
        • Continues education as required.
      **Qualifications**:

      **Education**
      • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or related field preferred.
      **Skills and Experience**
      • Minimum five years of experience in HVAC industry or related field.
      • Strong knowledge of building automation, HVAC concepts, and operations.
      • Proficient in customer needs assessment and sales proposal development.
      • Experience in mentoring and team development.
      • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
      • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
      • Contract evaluation and negotiation skills.
      • Strong problem-solving abilities.
      • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
      **Certificates, Licenses, Registrations**
      • Valid driver's license.
      **Other Requirements**
      • Travel required within the local area and Kansas.
      • Occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
      • Completes continuing education as needed.
