Salary Range:
$ $ /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

The Mammography Technologist performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations to obtain high-quality radiographs.

Obtains images of excellent diagnostic quality to optimally demonstrate anatomy and/or pathology while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients.

The technologist educates the patient/family about the procedure as well as provides pre and post-procedure instructions.

The technologist takes measures to provide and care for the patient's safety and properly utilizes procedure-related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient.

Alert supervisor and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions. Maintains a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients. Also performs special procedures, assists with quality control testing, and ordering of supplies. Offers guidance to less experienced staff. Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Graduate of an ARRTapproved Radiologic Technology program is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of mammography experience is required.

License and Certifications:


  • California Radiologic Technologist Diagnostic Radiologic Technology
  • CRTXR required
  • California Radiologic Technologist Mammographic Radiologic Technology
  • CRTMA required
  • ARRT Radiography
  • RTR
  • AHA BLS certification
  • ARRT Mammography
  • RTM
