Staff Accountant (General Accounting) - Harrisburg, PA

The Staff Accountant (General Accounting) in this position will perform a variety of accounting duties to support the Corporate Accounting Department's responsibility for integrity of the Balance Sheet of the company in accordance with GAAP/IFRS. This role will be primarily responsible for:

Accounting and reconciliation of a variety of general ledger accounts to support the Balance Sheet
Analyze various General Ledger accounts and cost centers to ensure integrity of the Income Statement

Principal Responsibilities:

Accounting and reconciliation of a variety of general ledger accounts to support the Balance Sheet primarily include:
- Cash - daily/weekly import of files from banks, bank reconciliations/fees, accrued interest
- Review SG&A cost centers and analysis
- Other miscellaneous prepaid items and accruals
- Enter monthly JE during the monthly close
- Quarterly reserve entries - bad debts, rebills, cash discounts and unsaleables
Prepare monthly journal entries in support of the month end closing process
Prepare detail analysis for Preliminary and YE audit
Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Perform special projects and assignments as required

Education

BS/BA Accounting or Finance

Work Experience

2-3 years accounting experience preferred
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups), PowerPoint
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP
CPA or Public Accounting experience a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Skills and Abilities

Strong analytical & problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of accuracy
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Advanced Windows, PowerPoint, Access and Excel skills required
Spreadsheet, database, and other automated reporting systems
Office environment with moderate exposure to manufacturing
