Your key responsibilities

Perform analytical determinations on finished product food and beverage samples with the objective of completely identifying the volatile profile and content of the flavor within the product.
Perform quantitative HPLC analyses of select nonvolatile taste compounds.
Define and perform extraction techniques that allow the volatiles in food products to be extracted in total from the food product and introduced into a medium suitable for GC-MS determination.
Define and perform data analysis techniques that allow complex volatiles analysis to be completed.
Report analyses in a format that includes a suggested formula and allows the flavorist to create a flavor that can be used in a base similar to the target food product to give similar organoleptic properties.
Perform routine maintenance of analytical equipment.

You bring

B.S. or M.S. (preferred) in Analytical Chemistry or Food Science
25 years of experience with gas chromatographymass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis
Experience with routine GC-MS equipment maintenance
Experience with quantitative HPLC or UPLC analysis and equipment maintenance, desirable. Familiarity with Agilent OpenLab CDS software for HPLC preferred.
Experience in flavor analysis preferred
