- Perform analytical determinations on finished product food and beverage samples with the objective of completely identifying the volatile profile and content of the flavor within the product.
- Perform quantitative HPLC analyses of select nonvolatile taste compounds.
- Define and perform extraction techniques that allow the volatiles in food products to be extracted in total from the food product and introduced into a medium suitable for GC-MS determination.
- Define and perform data analysis techniques that allow complex volatiles analysis to be completed.
- Report analyses in a format that includes a suggested formula and allows the flavorist to create a flavor that can be used in a base similar to the target food product to give similar organoleptic properties.
- Perform routine maintenance of analytical equipment.

You bring
- B.S. or M.S. (preferred) in Analytical Chemistry or Food Science
- 25 years of experience with gas chromatographymass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis
- Experience with routine GC-MS equipment maintenance
- Experience with quantitative HPLC or UPLC analysis and equipment maintenance, desirable. Familiarity with Agilent OpenLab CDS software for HPLC preferred.
- Experience in flavor analysis preferred
