Director, OU Operations
will play a critical role in leading and supporting the execution of the Patient Care Systems (PCS) strategy in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This leader is a key part of the PCS senior staff, reporting functionally to CRM OU Global Operations and operationally to the Vice President of the Patient Care Systems Function.
The PCS Function is a unique function within CRM in that they have products and inventory to support programming and monitoring of all devices in CRM (pacemakers, defibrillators, and monitors).The OU Operations Leader (Director) will be responsible for effectively coordinating a total product end-to-end Operations enterprise.
This role will provide a key link between various functional areas from New Product Development through to Customer Experience and from the Operating unit (OU) to Manufacturing Network, enabling the early detection and resolution of interface issues.
The OU Operations Leader will work with leaders and stakeholders and relevant teams to deliver superior value to the customer by ensuring the consistent achievement or exceeding of quality, cost, and service goals on both the commercial and new product pipeline fronts.
A Day in the LifeResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Lead operations interface between the OU and Global Operations & Supply Chain acting as a liaison between them.
Play a key role as a member of the PSC Functional VP Staff driving strategy development and strong execution.
Member of CRM Operations Unit Senior Staff to ensure prioritization, strong execution, and problem solving across the manufacturing (internal and external) network.
Accountable for Integrated Business Planning (IBP), product availability, backorder, inventory, scrap, obsolescence, and all other operations KPIs through IBP process and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) ownershipManage a team of Core Team Operations Members (aka CTORs) to partner with R&D and GO&SC to ensure new products are launched on time and can be scaled in a manner that enables the business strategy.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across various functions as the key interface with, and advocate for, all groups contributing to the CRM Manufacturing network and OU customer end-to-end value stream, throughout product life cycle and customer interaction points.
Additional special projects as opportunities arise.Must Have:
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field
10+ years of relevant operations and/or product development experience
Or Advanced Degree with a minimum 8 years prior relevant operations and/or product development experience.
7 years of leadership experience
Nice to Have:
Master's degree in engineering and or an MBA
Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Certification or Design for Reliability and Manufacturability Certification
5 + years experience leading manufacturing, operations, supply chain and/or product development experience in a regulated medical industry
Previous Medtronic experience strongly preferred
Understanding of product design, manufacturing, supply chain and distribution processes
15 or more years of related broad operations leadership/management on a global scale
Demonstrated ability to recognize and resolve critical complex and systemic problems
Demonstrated leadership of senior people and complex projects, with a strong track record of success working within a global and complex matrix organization.
Based in Minneapolis and able to come into the office 3 days per week on average.About Medtronic
