What you will do...


In the role of Machine Operator, you will prepare material for job completion by setting up and operating machinery to cut, punch, bend, or drill materials.


In this role, you will be an integral part of the Fairway Architectural Railing Solution (Fairway) team and will work with an unwavering commitment to the Company's core values; honesty and integrity, compliance, safety, quality, execution, and profitability.


Your typical day looks like...

Essential Functions:


  • Participate in the company's Zero-Incident Safety Culture
  • Comply with all environmental and safety regulations
  • Review cut lists and read job tickets for accuracy prior to beginning work, notifying lead of any inaccuracies
  • Prepare material for cutting, punching, bending, or drilling, marking material as necessary according to job ticket
  • Set up machines according to job specifications
  • Operate machines to cut, punch, bend, or drill materials as required by job specifications
  • Bundle and label material as required for assembly and welding
  • Perform routine quality checks and notify Lead of any issues
  • Maintain and clean work area, tools, and equipment in accordance with 5S Program
  • Operate D365 scanner to track material usage and work progress
  • Follow documented procedures and work instructions to perform tasks
  • Follow departmental and company safety rules and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you will bring to the role...

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Previous experience operating saws, drill presses, pipe benders, or punch presses is preferred
  • Good handeye coordination skills, ability to grasp, manipulate and position various components and machine parts
  • Basic math skills and ability to read measurements is required
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use various machines and tools is required
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings is required
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

None


Physical Demands and Work Environment:


  • Ability to operate and manipulate tools and materials
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for majority of the working shift
  • Ability to frequently walk, reach, pull, push, stoop, and bend
  • The work environment is manufacturing based. Noise levels may be moderate to high. Employee may be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. Protective equipment will be provided and is required to be worn

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time position. This is a 2nd shift position Monday-Friday with occasional overtime required.
