- Provide interpretation and transliteration services for deaf or hard-of-hearing students in various educational settings, including classrooms, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment by ensuring effective munication between students, teachers, and staff members.
- Collaborate with educators and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support the academic and social success of deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while adhering to the Code of Professional Conduct for Interpreters in Educational Settings.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in sign language interpretation and deaf education.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Sign Language Interpretation or a related field.
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID, BEI, EIPA).
- Preferably hold a minimum Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher.
- Experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings preferred.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse students and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
