- Prepares cold food items for patients and cafeteria.
- Take Room Service orders including employee/patient/family initiated orders and those patients needing assistance.
- Complete tray assembly.
- Ensures food meets all safety and sanitary regulations and completes all required documentation.
- Data entry using Microsoft Excel.
- Basic cash handling.
- Maintains a safe, clean, neat and orderly cooking area.
- Ensures all department policies and programs are adhered to.
- Ensure satisfaction in quality and service using problem resolution skills as necessary.

- Advanced time-management and organizational skills; Able to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment with constant customer interaction.
- Must be able to read dietary instructions
- Flexible schedule and willingness to help out as requested.
- High School graduate or GED required or, in lieu of education, must have one to three years' experience in a cafeteria, healthcare, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting, preferably in tray line or dish/pot position
- Food Handler certification within 180 days of hire
- Able to operate a cash register and various kitchen equipment (blenders, food processors, dish machine, label maker, etc.); possesses manual dexterity and motor skills to work equipment as needed.
- Basic computer skills including ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Six months previous food service experience
- There is a $1,500 sign-on bonus available for this position for external candidates and candidates who have not worked at NM in over 1 year.
