Job Summary
Position responsible for preparing patients and the environment prior to surgery for the medical and nursing team.


OR Attendant - Full-time Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm -11:00 pm with call**
BLS preferred

Will be responsible for maintenance of the Operating Room (OR) and assisting nurses with basic OR functions.

This position is located at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred


Licenses/Certifications (None)


Experience / Knowledge / Skills:


  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and read and write English.
  • Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Assists with physical preparation of patient and physical environment prior to surgery according to the age/needs of the patient/population served; transports and transfers patients as necessary.
  • Functions as a porter between departments ensuring required medical supplies, information, specimens, and products are delivered in a timely fashion
  • Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, and accuracy of practice.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports departmentbased goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
