Maintenance Technician - Portage, United States - The Crossroads Mall

Description

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and repairing minor electrical and plumbing issues.
• Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs accordingly.
• Repair or replace damaged fixtures, appliances, and equipment as needed.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants, management, and visitors. This could involve plumbing leaks or HVAC malfunctions.
• Perform minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs as needed.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and functionality of mall amenities, including elevators, escalators, and public seating areas.
• Install and assemble furniture, shelving, and other fixtures.
• Handle basic carpentry tasks such as installing doors, repairing fences, and building shelves.
• Paint walls, touch up surfaces, and perform other minor cosmetic repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants or management.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including materials used and work completed.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with property management and other departments to prioritize tasks and address maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and other seasonal maintenance tasks as needed.

• At least 2 years' experience in general contracting, maintenance, or similar role.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Solid understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.
• Knowledge of basic building systems, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, to include working professionally with tenants, vendors, and visitors
• Must be able to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and stand for extended amounts of time
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays if needed
• Must comply with all company safety regulations
