- Oversees the use of public relations agencies and vendors to initiate and execute on projects, including news releases, press conferences, customer events where media are involved and media outreach
- Manages, updates contents and oversees creation of new content for various company online properties including websites and social media
- Collaborates with Investor Relations on press releases, presentations and the completion of Green Plains Inc. Annual Report
- Coordinate and attend industry conferences as needed
- Create internal and external online, social, video and print communication campaigns.
- Manage miscellaneous employee communication as needed
- Manage Green Plains' social-media presence on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube
- Work with Investor Relations and Government Affairs to ensure external messaging is aligned and in compliance with state and federal law at all times
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on marketing materials and candidate content
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or related area required
- Minimum 5 years experience in public relations/affairs in a corporate/media/agency setting required
- Must be a self-starter with a keen attention to detail and deadlines as well as ability to multi-task
- Experience in personnel management is preferred
- Demonstrated experience communicating with contacts in media outlets and editors
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Exceptional creative writing ability
- Well-versed in writing for social media/digital platforms and blogs
- Experience drafting strategic, integrated communication plans
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization including Senior Management and the Board of Directors
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license and able to travel
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job includes but is not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, frequent computer use; some lifting or moving up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to work after hours/weekends and on call as needed
