- Billing Specialist conduct searches for each financial statement for any payment inconsistencies or errors
- Collaborate with patients or customers, third party institutions and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors
- Create invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to a customer or patient
- Input payment history, upcoming payment information or other financial data into an individual account
- Find financial solutions for patients or customers who may need payment assistance
- Inform patients or customers of any missed or upcoming payment deadlines
- Calculate and track various company financial statements
- Translate medical code if working in a medical setting
- Submit and maintain credentialing records and standards with Insurance Companies
- Submit and maintain contracts for services with Insurance Companies
- Providing support and educating potential referrals of services we provide
- Collaborate with clinical staff to manage documentation requirements.
- Communicate effectively with staff and clients regarding billing concerns and issues
- Build relationships with other providers and agencies within the state of Texas.
- Perform data entry as needed, updating MCT records.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
- Strong communication, including writing, speaking and active listening
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service, organizational, analytical skills, and problem solving skills.
- Indepth knowledge of industry best practices related to Mental & behavioral health
- Basic math, bookkeeping and accounting skills
- Organization, time management and prioritization abilities
- Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of business, patient or customer information
- Effective computer skills to input to use bookkeeping and account management software in a timely and efficient manner
- Understanding of industryspecific policies, such as HIPAA regulations for health care
