Under the general direction of the Assistant Office Chief, Office of Business Operations a Staff Services Manager II, The incumbent has the overall responsibility for overseeing multidisciplinary staff levels for the District 4 Security, Building Safety and Fleet Operations, including responsibilities for the Oakland District Office Building, which is approximately 684,000 square feet and occupies employees and tenants, 4-floor State Garage, a Traffic Management Center (24hr operation) and District Computer Data Center, not limited to Security Operations, Building Safety and Automotive/Fleet Management,.
The incumbent will be responsible for the resolution of complex issues relating to security, building safety and fleet operations for the District Administration Division.
The incumbent will provide support to designated satellite field offices in nine Bay Area counties.- Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Staff Services Manager I Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g. transfer, permissive reinstatement or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.

Working Conditions
Position located in Oakland, Alameda County.
Incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting; however, due to unexpected heating and air conditioning problems, building temperature may fluctuate.
The incumbent will also be required to travel between the District Office, Headquarters, and other districts throughout the district to attend meetings or trainings.
Occasional overtime, night work, and overnight travel may be required.Minimum Requirements
