JOB TITLE:
ADMINISTATOR OF ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY
SUMMARY:
The Administrator of the Assisted Living Facility is responsible for executing the daily operations of the facility in a profitable manner.
The administrator directs and supervises the work of staff in providing for the care and needs of the residents.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comprehensive understanding of the NH State Regulations for Assisted Living Facilities; He-P 804 and He-P 80
- Organize and schedule meetings with various departments, employees, residents, families, outside agencies and third parties as necessary.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the facility's programs and activities in a manner that creates a profit for the facility.
- Oversee the monthly schedule, ensuring proper staffing is adequate. When needed, administrator will cover working shift(s) to ensure proper staffing ratio.
- Review the facility's policies and procedures periodically, and make changes as necessary to assure continued compliance with regulations.
- Maintains office and facility supplies by checking stocks, placing and expediting orders, evaluating new products
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs.
- Receives and resolves or assists the management in resolving residence complaints and service recovery process.
- Ensure that all employees, residents and visitors, and general public follow established policies and procedures.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the state annually for licensing or as necessary.
- Assist the staff as necessary in areas of infection control and safety.
- Responsible for selecting or assisting in the selection of assisted living facility staff and in charge of processing all new hire paperwork.
- Responsible for reviewing employee performance and conducts personnel actions such as promotion, disciplinary action and termination.
- Make routine inspections of the facility departments to assure that established policies and procedure are being implemented and followed.
- Participate in state surveys review and develop a plan of correction for any deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such plan to the state.
- Maintain as a liaison for families and residents.
- Schedule tours and maintain waiting list to keep beds occupied.
- Complete resident admissions into the community, following all guidelines and requirements. Oversee the lease agreements with resident and responsible parties.
Safety Skills:
- Ensure that all facility personnel, resident and visitors etc., follow established safety regulations to include fire prevention, smoking regulation, infection control, etc.
- Ensure that the building and grounds are maintained in good repair.
- Review incident reports and establish an effective accident prevention program. Submit incident report findings to the state on a quarterly basis; as governed by the safety committee.
- Ensure that facility procedure manuals identify safety precautions and equipment is in good working condition to prevent bodily injury.
- Ensure staff follow policies and procedure and participate in inservices annually or as set for by the state regulations.
- Ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Oversee and implement Residential Assessment Tool and quarterly summaries.
Budget and Planning Functions:
- Meet regularly with bookkeeper to give approvals of disapprovals relating to financials as necessary.
- Submit weekly timesheet to payroll with approvals. Monitor overtime cautiously, on a monthly basis.
- Maintaining accurate records including cash flow sheet, AR aging reports, direct billing, monthly rents, petty cash accounts.
- Bill monthly to Medicaid, if necessary.
- Keep abreast of the economic conditions/situation and make adjustments as necessary to assure continued ability to provide quality care.
Resident's Rights:
- Responsible for determining who is admitted into the Assisted Living facility.
- Monitoring residence's treatment plans, if applicable.
- Ensure quality services are provided at the assisted living facility.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
- Ensure that the resident's rights are adhered to per state guidelines.
- Review resident, family and staff complaints and discuss as needed.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must be able to pass a NH criminal background check, with no felony charges
- Must be able to pass NH BEAS check, with no findings unless a waiver is granted by BEAS or NH Board of Nursing specifically.
- Possess a valid NH motor vehicle license
- A NH license as a RN and at least 6 months experience working in a health care facility; or
- A NH license as a LPN and at least one year of experience working in a health care facility.
