Position Summary
Lead HR projects in conjunction with the HR director, including recruitment, onboarding, HR database management, and other day-to-day support as needed.
Duties &
Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Manage the recruiting and interviewing for agency through multiple sourcing methods, including proactive and reactive tools.
- Lead in new hire orientation and complete employee verifications
- Ensure all new hire packets are completed and correct documentation is submitted to appropriate department for processing.
- Assist new employees with background checks and I9 verifications
- Assist in managing the process for utilizing volunteer workers.
Compliance
- Assist with new HR databases to keep up to date and accurate employee statistics on educational levels, positions, salaries, and medical benefits.
- Participate in quarterly review of Human Resource file compliance checks
- Keep apprised of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations in order to ensure compliance.
- Process and submit necessary for new employment/licensing documentation to appropriate agencies in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the facilities are in compliance with NAEYC HR standards.
Operations
- Participate in quarterly employee trainings
- Assists and prepares correspondence
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing documents as related to employment policies and procedures. Disseminate to staff.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
B.A. degree in human resources or related field from an accredited college or university
Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentational skills.
- Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with administration, staff, consultants, regulators and founders in a teamoriented environment.
- Capacity to assume responsibility for own professional development.
- Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving.
- Ability to plan and schedule the work of others.
- Flexible, with the ability to work in a highly demanding, stressful environment.
- Proficiency using wordprocessing system.
- Ability to cooperate successfully as a member of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback on the quality of services.
- Meet any specific content area requirements
- Ability to read and speak English proficiently, bilingual Spanish a plus.
